Korea East-West Power realizes carbon neutrality and creates jobs for senior citizens through upcycling of waste plastic

Korea East-West Power announced that it participated in the '3rd Korea Social Value Festa' held at COEX in Seoul on the 21st and 22nd and showcased the results of its waste plastic natural circulation project and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) collaboration.

At the event, Korea East-West Power announced the role and potential of public institutions and took the lead in spreading eco-friendly values, including the 'Resource Circulation Project', which realizes carbon neutrality by regenerating waste plastic into upcycling products in cooperation with the 'Upcycling Research Institute', and the 'Job Creation Project', which solves social problems by providing jobs for local seniors.

In particular, East-West Power was the only power generation company to participate for three consecutive years, demonstrating its continued commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management practices.

At the event, the East-West Power project's progress and major achievements were introduced, and various upcycling souvenirs, such as block keyrings and alphabet keyrings made using waste plastic, were distributed to visitors, providing an opportunity to experience the value of resource recycling.

By showing the process by which waste plastic is reborn as a product with new value rather than as a discarded resource, it raised awareness of the importance of practicing resource circulation in daily life.
