Two-year-old child is found alone at home in Anápolis; stepfather is arrested and mother is a minor

A two-year-old child was found alone inside a house in Anápolis, in the central region of Goiás. According to the Civil Police, neighbors heard the girl crying, looked over the wall and realized that she was alone. Residents called the Military Police, and the entire situation was recorded on video.

In an interview with g1, the person responsible for the Child and Adolescent Protection Police Station (DPCA) in Anápolis, delegate Aline Rodrigues Lopes Martins, reported that the neighbors were responsible for helping the child.

"The neighbors noticed that the child had been crying a lot for a long time, they looked over the wall and saw that she was alone. They called the Military Police and the team arrived at the scene", he reported.

The delegate detailed that the couple returned to the property while the military police responded to the incident and that the man disrespected the agents.

"While they were registering, those responsible for the child returned. The stepfather even disrespected and cursed the police officers", informed Aline.

According to the delegate, the couple was taken to the Central de Flagrantes, but only the man was arrested in the act for abandonment of an incapable person and contempt. A Detailed Police Report (BOC) was registered against the mother for an infraction similar to the abandonment of an incapacitated person, due to her being a minor.

"We are going to investigate the circumstances of this abandonment and listen to other witnesses, even to understand what the history of this family nucleus was like and whether there was already news of other abandonments", stated the delegate.
