The IDF announced the killing of two suspects in southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the killing of two suspects who entered the security zone and approached the military in southern Lebanon.

“Earlier on Monday, IDF soldiers working in southern Lebanon identified two suspects who entered the security zone and approached the military... The military opened fire... the suspects were neutralized,” the army statement said.

According to the report, no Israeli military personnel were injured. An investigation into the incident is underway. The army does not provide other details of what happened.

Lebanon and Israel concluded a framework agreement in Washington on June 26, which provides for a complete ceasefire and the restoration of control of the Lebanese army over the south of the country, subject to the disarmament of Hezbollah. Coordination of mechanisms for implementing the agreement continued in Rome on August 6-7.
