The EAM links the kidnapping of a young woman in Alhaurín de la Torre with a previous case of gender violence

The Women's Assistance Team (EAM) of Malaga has linked the case of the young woman kidnapped and tied to a tree who was rescued this past Tuesday in Alhaurín de la Torre (Málaga) with a previous case of gender violence that her father would have committed and after which he would have committed suicide.

Through a press release, the EAM points out that the events date back to the 15th, when a woman who had been suffering from a context of gender and sexual violence received a visit from her ex-partner at her home in Alhaurín de la Torre. The man would have broken into the house after causing damage to the door and, once inside, he would have attacked her with kicks, punches and continuous blows, according to the medical report provided to the EAM.

The victim tried to call for help, but the aggressor snatched the phone from her, and during the attack, and in the presence of the victim, he allegedly grabbed the cat that they were both caring for and threw it from a height of approximately five floors, causing it to die.

According to the EAM's report, the victim, who suffered multiple trauma and bruises, was transferred to a health center, and after the first judicial action she was assessed as an extreme risk victim, for which a protection device was established in the face of the lack of knowledge of the aggressor's whereabouts. Hours later, the EAM points out, it was learned that the aggressor had died by suicide.

The Women's Assistance Team points out that, after these events, the victim of the attack began to receive death threats from people around her, "while the EAM already had information related to another young woman belonging to the family environment of the deceased."

It is at this point that the EAM refers directly to the young woman who was found tied up in Alhaurín de la Torre this past Tuesday, the latter case for which a man, apparently her boyfriend, was arrested this Friday and who would have sent a video of the tied young woman to her family. The judicial authority ordered his entry into provisional prison and he was initially charged with the crimes of injuries, threats and illegal detention in the area of ​​gender violence.

"One of the elements that connects both episodes is that the deceased man was the father of the young woman who was subsequently found tied up. Given the succession of events, it is not ruled out that there may be other circumstances linked to economic disagreements or possible conflicts between groups," says the Malaga Women's Assistance Team in the statement, in which they point out that this conclusion is "an assessment" of the team itself "based on the information available" and "not a hypothesis that the EAM can confirm."
