Telegram of Support from King Mohammed VI of Morocco to Saudi Arabia

King Mohammed VI of Morocco sent a telegram to Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Pointing to the repeated attacks of the Houthis against Saudi Arabia, the King of Morocco stated that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are an integral part of Morocco's security.

Moroccan King: "Every attack against Saudi Arabia is considered an attack on Morocco." he said.

Describing the protection of the high interests of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries as "defense of common strategic interests", King Mohammed VI stated that Morocco stands by Riyadh against the risks that threaten the security and stability of Saudi Arabia.

Stating that he is deeply concerned about the attacks targeting civilian and economic facilities, critical infrastructures, cities and residential areas in Saudi Arabia, the King of Morocco stated that the extension of the attacks to attempts to target Mecca further increased the reactions.

CALL FOR "INTERNATIONAL SANCTIONS"

Stating that attempts to target Mecca are an attack on Muslims' holy places and the feelings of more than 1.8 billion Muslims, the Moroccan King noted that the Houthis and "those who stand behind them, finance and arm them" are responsible for the attacks, and called for "international sanctions" to be imposed on those responsible for the attacks.

King Mohammed VI of Morocco also stated that the continuation of the attacks is against international law and the United Nations Security Council resolution 2216 of 2015 on Yemen and resolution 2722 of 2024 regarding attacks on shipping.
