Allegation that VPN use in Iran facilitates espionage activities

According to Iran's official news agency IRNA, Kaimpenah made statements regarding the use of VPN in the country.

Kaimpenah stated that, according to reports prepared by security officials, the use of VPN "facilitates enemy infiltration and espionage activities."

Stating that some people also gain unfair profits from VPN sales in Iran, Kaimpenah stated that some people earn approximately 12 trillion tomans (64 million dollars) annually from this sale.

"We don't know whose pocket this money is going into, but we know it's not going into the pockets of the Ministry of Communications or the operators," Kaimpenah said. he said.

Internet restrictions in Iran

In Iran, where internet access is limited, the administration opened the "White SIM Card" application, which allows international internet access to a certain extent, to foreign mission employees, diplomats, politicians, some journalists, well-known people and artists.

Allegations that the application was transferred to third parties for high fees became a matter of public debate.
