Statement from TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel about the shipwreck off the coast of Kyrenia

Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ünal Üstel, made a statement about the ongoing search efforts after the shipwreck that occurred off the coast of Kyrenia. Üstel stated that search efforts continue uninterruptedly by sea, land and air on a 24/7 basis.

Stating that the new ship that will participate in the search work will reach the shipwreck area around 20:00 today and will start its work tomorrow, Üstel said, "With the technical facilities of the new ship, we aim to reach the inner parts of the shipwreck, which is 554 meters under the sea, and reach our losses. We believe that we will get results in the new phase that will start tomorrow. Our families of the missing should know that our state has not given up on its losses. We will continue to use all the means at our disposal and continue our work with determination to reach our losses. To those who lost their lives in the shipwreck."
