Singer Márcio Victor cried when he found out about Psirico's nomination for the 2026 Latin Grammy. He received the news this Wednesday (16) flying from the United States to Salvador.

The group competes in the Best Roots Music Album in Portuguese language category with "Molho Lambão". The ceremony will take place on November 12th.

Other Bahian women nominated for the award are Luedji Luna and Simone Mendes. Composer Carlinhos Brown is also on the list of artists linked to this year's nominations.

Bahian singer Márcio Victor, lead singer of Psirico, cried when he discovered that the Bahian group was nominated for the 2026 Latin Grammy. The singer received the news while returning from the United States to Salvador, this Wednesday (16), and celebrated on the phone with his mother and a friend who was on the aircraft.

"Mainha, mainha. Where are you, ma'am?", says Márcio Victor, excited, before revealing the news. "The Grammy! We were nominated, Dudu!", he celebrates.

Then, the singer celebrates the realization of what he considers an old dream. “I knew, man, that we would arrive one day”, he says.

The reaction caught the attention of a passenger who was sitting next to the artist. “Did you just get nominated for a Grammy?” he asks. Next, he congratulates Márcio Victor.

Psirico was nominated in the Best Portuguese Language Roots Music Album category for the work “Molho Lambão”. The group competes for the award with Carminho, João Gomes, Mestrinho and Jota.pê, Juliana Linhares and Zaynara.

The nomination was announced by the Latin Recording Academy this Wednesday. The 27th Latin Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for November 12, in Las Vegas, in the United States.

In addition to Psirico, other artists from Bahia also appear among the nominees for the 2026 Latin Grammy.

Singer Luedji Luna competes in the Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese language category with “Antes Que A Terra Acabe”. Simone Mendes was nominated for Best Country Music Album with “Cantando Sua História 2 (Ao Vivo)”.

Bahian singer-songwriter Carlinhos Brown is among the artists linked to this year's nominations, despite not having been officially nominated. He is one of the composers of “Sua Onda”, by Marisa Monte, nominated in the Best Song in Portuguese Language category.
