MHP's Feti Yıldız reacts to MPs' use of flashing lights

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Deputy Chairman and Istanbul Deputy Feti Yıldız reacted to the MPs' use of flashing vehicles outside of legislative work.

Yıldız said, "We see friends using flashlights while going to the barbershop, greengrocer, grocery store, and walking around the countryside for their private business. I would like to remind you that these friends receive great reactions from the citizens driving in traffic."

"WASHER SHOULD NOT BE USED EXCEPT FOR LEGISLATIVE DUTIES"

Yıldız said the following in her statement on her social media account:

"Article 71 of the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918 and Article 141 of the Traffic Regulations limit the use of strobe lights. Strobe lights are not a status symbol, but a right given to vehicles authorized by the state to be used for emergencies and duty requirements. It can only be used by a limited number of official vehicles, such as ambulances, fire trucks, police and gendarmerie teams, emergency response vehicles, state protocol vehicles, during duty. We often witness the abuse of this right. In private works. "We see friends using strobe lights while going to the barbershop, grocery store, and walking around the countryside. I would like to remind you that these friends receive great reactions from the citizens who are driving in traffic. But, without saying 'but', I am saying clearly that my fellow MPs should not use strobe vehicles except for work related to their legislative duties."
