Response from Microsoft to GTA 6 pre-order claims

GTA 6 pre-orders have reignited the competition between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in the gaming world. Recent claims suggested that there was serious concern on the Xbox side and orders were concentrated on the PlayStation 5 side.

Microsoft, on the other hand, broke its silence by directly opposing these evaluations. Company management emphasized that the game has already broken records on their platforms and that they are satisfied with the results.

Allegations and Microsoft's Response

According to information circulating in the gaming industry, the majority of pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 shifted to the PlayStation 5 side. It was claimed that this situation created unrest within Xbox management and weakened the platform's position in the market.

Xbox Strategy Director Matthew Ball denied these claims and stated that the company was very pleased with the pre-order results. Ball stated that new records have already been broken on the Xbox platform and they expect this momentum to continue in the autumn period.

According to Microsoft's internal analysis, Xbox's share of total pre-orders is fully in line with the brand's position in the current console market. This refutes rumors that sales were lower than expected compared to the brand's overall market share.

It is a known fact that PlayStation 5 has a larger installed user base in the current generation. Therefore, expecting an equal number of pre-orders between the two consoles is not a realistic expectation and current data supports this situation.

Although Microsoft does not share the exact number of pre-orders placed on Xbox Series X|S, it confirms that the performance is within expectations. The company clearly demonstrates that it maintains its current power in the market and is satisfied with the interest of players.
