Drug operation in 4 provinces, centered in Nevşehir: 33 detained

Nevşehir Police Department Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch teams carried out a 4-month technical and physical follow-up study to identify drug dealers. In the study, it was determined that the suspects organized drug sales through instant messaging applications and social media platforms.

It was also determined that the suspects sent the drugs to different provinces by cargo and brought them into the country by swallowing through couriers from abroad.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION ON 35 SUSPECTS

Deepening the investigation, the teams launched an operation at the specified addresses. Simultaneous raids were carried out in Nevşehir center and Derinkuyu, Gülşehir, Avanos and Acıgöl districts, as well as in Istanbul, Izmir and Antalya. In the operation carried out to 36 addresses belonging to a total of 35 suspects; 214 personnel took part. 3 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and 3 narcotic dogs were also used in the searches.

MANY DRUGS WERE CAUGHT

In addresses; 1 kilo 600 grams of methamphetamine, 1 kilo 20 grams of marijuana, 134.73 grams of cannabinoids, many synthetic and narcotic pills and cash (TL, euro and Iranian rial) believed to have been obtained from the drug trade were seized. Incriminating substances were seized to be presented to judicial authorities. It was reported that the judicial proceedings of 33 suspects detained during the operation are continuing at the police station.
