Agreement on a new road to the airport in Balice

The authorities of Krakow and the local government of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship signed an agreement regarding the management of a new section of provincial road No. 774 leading to the airport in Balice. The document regulates the issues of financing and implementation of the investment, also covering parts running through the area of ​​the Municipality of Krakow.

As local government representatives emphasize, the aim of the investment is to improve access to the airport, improve traffic in the area of ​​the motorway junction and reduce transit traffic on current roads.

The new section of provincial road No. 774 will be approximately 3.5 km long and will run through the communes of Zabierzów, Liszki and Kraków, parallel to the A4 motorway.

Approximately 2.5 km of the route will follow a completely new track, and the street will be rebuilt. Olszanicka will cover almost a kilometer.

The route is planned to start near the intersection of DW 774 in Szczyglice and Balice, and end at the roundabout at ul. Olszanicka and ul. Medweckiego in Balice. The investment will include the construction of two turbine roundabouts, slip roads to the "Balice II" motorway junction and an overpass over the railway line and the Olszanicki stream.

The construction of a new section of the road is primarily intended to improve communication in the area of ​​the Kraków-Balice airport. The new route will better connect the airport with the A4 motorway and the existing road network.
