PRF seizes 130 ampoules of illegal medicine operating on the highway

According to the PRF, the agents received intelligence information passed on by the Resende police station about a rented car that came from the border region suspected of transporting illicit products.

Also according to the PRF, the vehicle was intercepted on the highway with three occupants: the driver, aged 30, and two passengers, aged 22 and 26. During the inspection, the men demonstrated excessive nervousness and presented different versions, claiming that they were traveling to Juiz de Fora (MG) so that one of them could undergo a dental procedure.

When searching the trunk, the police found ampoules of a medicine used to treat diabetes and weight loss hidden next to the spare tire. The 26-year-old passenger admitted that he was the owner of the material and said that there was another shipment stored in the sunroof structure.

In total, 130 ampoules of the illegally imported medicine were seized. The suspect and the goods were taken to the Resende police station, where the case was registered for smuggling.
