Turin, body torn to pieces in an apartment: three arrested for the murder of Fabio Colapietro

There is the dramatic discovery of the chopped body of Fabio Colapietro, 39 years old, originally from Chivasso, at the center of the Turin news. The man's body was found mangled and partially hidden in garbage bags. The alarm went off around 11pm on Thursday, when a woman living in the Mirafiori neighborhood called 112. "My son hurt someone," she said. The investigators, who immediately rushed to the scene, tracked down the mother together with her two sons aged 26 and 22, Italians of South American origins. The eldest of the brothers confessed the crime to the officers, explaining that he had killed the man at the height of a fight that took place in an apartment on the other side of the city, in via Gulli 46.

The role of the teacher and the three arrests

The house of the crime, located on the fourth floor in the Borgo Vittoria district, has been rented for about two years to a 47-year-old, originally from Rieti. The woman is an Italian teacher at the Tommaso D'Oria Institute in Ciriè, but had been absent from school since the beginning of the school year for unspecified personal reasons. At the moment of the police raid, the teacher opened the door to the officers, who were immediately hit by a very strong acrid smell. Alongside the bags containing human remains and cement, several knives were seized. At the end of the investigations by the Scientific Police and the medical examiner, the Prosecutor's Office ordered three arrests: the 26-year-old young man, accused of murder, the Italian teacher, accused of aiding and abetting the suppression of the body and a third woman, also accused of aiding and abetting the suppression of the body.

The hypotheses being examined by investigators

The investigation, coordinated by prosecutor Lea Lamonaca and conducted by the Flying Squad under the guidance of director Davide Corazzini, moves in an extremely complex context. Among the leads being examined, we do not exclude that of a drug-fueled party that ended in tragedy. The victim, Fabio Colapietro, was in fact known in the area as a drug addict and had been estranged from his family for some time, often gravitating to the Settimo Torinese area. The exact place of death remains to be clarified: investigators must ascertain whether the 39-year-old was massacred with sticks and stabs inside the apartment or whether the body was transported to Via Gulli at a later time only to be dismembered and hidden. The death could date back to about two days before the discovery.

The crux of dating

The real crux of the story lies in the complex bonds between the people involved. The police are digging into the teacher's network of relationships to understand what linked her to the victim and the two twenty-year-olds from Mirafiori. Also under the magnifying glass of the investigators is the position of a trans woman, described by the neighbors as a constant presence in the apartment in recent times, who has already been formally interviewed to clarify her position. There are still many details to be clarified and the Prosecutor's Office is maintaining maximum confidentiality for now.
