Locride, Indian hemp plantation discovered: 2,300 plants seized

Over 2300 Indian hemp plants identified and destroyed in the most inaccessible areas of Locride, for an estimated production of more than 200 thousand doses of marijuana which, if placed on the market, would have had a value of more than 2 million euros. This is the summary of the activity carried out in recent days by the Carabinieri in the Calabrian Preserre.

The last intervention was carried out in Gioiosa Ionica by the soldiers of the local station, with the support of the "Cacciatori Calabria" heliborne squadron and the 8th Helicopter Unit. In a hilly area, hidden by dense vegetation, two plots were identified in which approximately 300 Indian hemp plants had been planted, in full vegetative state and between two and four meters tall.

To reach the cultivation, the carabinieri had to travel along particularly difficult paths and slopes for hours.

Despite the isolation of the area, the plantation was organized and equipped with automated irrigation systems used to ensure the supply of water to the plants.
