Turin: judge denies validation of arrest for Colapietro murder, but maintains precautionary custody

There is no validation of the arrest for the three accused of having killed one and the other two helped hide the body of Fabio Colapietro, 39, by cutting it into pieces, because the danger of escape does not exist. Indeed, they attempted to make that body disappear precisely to continue their lives as it was. However, there is enough evidence to confirm that they committed those atrocities, enough to support the need for precautionary custody in prison.

This is the decision of the judge for preliminary investigations of Turin Antonio Borretta, who ensured that Christian Matheus De Oliveira Morando, 26 years old, accused of voluntary homicide and suppression of a corpse, Nicole Formichetti, 47 years old, and Keith Butig (known as Sara), 22 years old, accused of complicity in the suppression of a corpse, remain at Lorusso and Cutugno in Turin.

Wilmer Perga, the lawyer of De Oliveira Morando, self-confessed, although saying that it would have been an involuntary consequence of a dispute, announces that in the next few days he will evaluate "whether to schedule an interrogation for the young man with the prosecutor, or whether to go to the Review for legal qualification. If the murder occurred during a struggle - he specifies -, the intentionality is not known, so it could be unintentional".

Meanwhile, he explains that Sara was "the only person my client already knew and with whom he frequented the Sempione park (a public city park in the neighborhood where the house where the events occurred is located, which has some areas of decay). She took him to Professor Formichetti's house, which he saw for the first time, just as he didn't know the victim, who arrived at a certain point in the party".

We will have to see how the three will justify the days spent trying to make that mangled body disappear, after the murder allegedly took place on September 21st, by consuming drugs repeatedly, at least three days before the discovery of the body now in pieces, on the night between September 24th and 25th. The investigators will have to look for elements to prove how much each of them contributed to throwing Colapietro's remains in bags and hiding them with cement, and how much part had already been taken away from the house that the teacher originally from Rieti rented in the Borgo Vittoria district of the Piedmontese capital.

The fact is that it was Formichetti himself who opened that door when the police arrived. It had happened that night when the young man who killed him had spoken to the police, in the throes of uncontrollable agitation, after meeting his mother and partner. A 112 call that the mother had dialed.
