Mother denies that son died due to social challenge: Jacopo Trabattoni electrocuted on pylon

Gioia Farina, the mother of Jacopo Trabattoni, the 15-year-old boy who died on Friday in the fields near Lodi, electrocuted after climbing a pylon, flatly denies that her son died due to a social challenge.

"There has been a lot of profiteering on the hypothesis, taken into consideration yesterday together with others by the investigators. Many things have been written, mostly wrong. It is not acceptable", she said in an interview with Corriere della Sera, adding that her son "was a passionate boy, who loved life.

He had crazy energy and enormous creativity." Instead, she confirmed that Jacopo's phone was found, with a selfie of him about 20 meters above the ground, thus denying the news made known by official sources about the failure to find the boy's cell phone which "was also the element that allowed us to recognize our son after the tragedy", explains the mother again.

Certainly, Jacopo Trabattoni, half an hour before climbing Terna's 132 Kvolt pylon, had lied down on the asphalt not far away, remaining still even when he heard a car arriving and stopping a few tens of meters from him. There was a woman on board, who saw the young man get up suddenly, not at all hurt, and then walk away resolutely.

Meanwhile, Daniela Verdi, the head teacher of the art high school that Jacopo attended, explained that "Jacopo's classmates, more than saddened, are shocked. We will also carry out support interventions with psychologists to listen to them and help them overcome what happened".

"We - concludes the principal - have 110 fantastic, exceptional children. The school is the last bastion, the last resort among educational agencies but we are aware of the highly responsible job we have: this is why we encourage human relationships at all levels, which are fundamental for us. This world, also dominated by badly used social media, is very difficult. I don't want to comment on this tragedy also because I don't know what to say".

The young man's body remains at the disposal of the Prosecutor's Office led by Laura Pedio at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pavia and investigations are continuing which will try to reconstruct what happened on an afternoon that ended in tragedy.
