Operation against the network selling traffic accident data: 8 arrests

In the investigation into the illegal acquisition of data of people who had a traffic accident and transferring it to law firms and damage consultancy companies, a simultaneous operation was organized in 4 provinces centered in Istanbul. 8 of the detained suspects were arrested, 4 of them were released on condition of judicial control.

Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Special Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an investigation was launched against the suspects who were determined to have unlawfully obtained the personal information of the victims and forwarded it to the relevant offices and companies. The investigation continues.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS IN 4 CITIES

During the investigations of the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) and the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK), it was determined that unusual money transfers were made to some law enforcement officers, arbitration arbitrators, insurance company employees, agents and experts, and service employees.

Within the scope of the investigation, information was obtained that power of attorney was obtained from 253 thousand people through persistent searches and misleading statements and that 15.6 billion lira of unfair profit was obtained through this method.

While an investigation was launched against 825 people related to the incident, simultaneous searches and detentions were carried out against 6 law offices and 20 companies in Istanbul, Ankara, Sakarya and Gaziantep.

11 SUSPECTS WERE REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE

11 suspects who were detained within the scope of the investigation were transferred to the Anatolian Palace of Justice after their procedures at the gendarmerie were completed.

It was determined that one of the suspects was in prison. 8 of the suspects were arrested, and 4 people were released on condition of judicial control.
