Tragic police intervention in Kraśnik Górny - a policeman died after being shot in the head

On Thursday, a tragic police intervention took place in Kraśnik Górny near Bolesławiec. Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec conducted operational activities against a person suspected of theft. Around 11:00 a shooting occurred on one of the properties.

According to the District Prosecutor's Office in Jelenia Góra, a 33-year-old man who returned home during police operations shot twice at the police. One of the bullets hit a 29-year-old policeman in the head. An air ambulance was immediately called to the scene and transported the injured officer to the hospital.

Doctors fought for many hours to save the young policeman's life. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of medics, he could not be saved. The perpetrator of the shooting was detained by other officers - he did not suffer any injuries.

As RMF FM journalist Martyna Czerwińska found out, the young policeman served in the criminal department and joined the police less than two years ago. As emphasized in the statement, he performed his service with commitment and a sense of responsibility for the safety of others.
