Public transport will be free for voters in Uberlândia in the 2026 Elections

Municipal public transport in Uberlândia will be free on voting days for the 2026 Elections. The decree establishing the measure was published by the City Hall in a supplementary edition of the Official Municipal Gazette (DOM) on Friday (25).

The free fee will be valid in the first round, on October 4th, and also in the second round, on October 25th, if applicable. According to the decree, passengers will be able to use the Integrated Transport System (SIT) free of charge from the start of regular operations until 7pm.

To have free access to the buses, voters must present their voter registration card or e-Título when boarding.

Concession companies responsible for public transport must maintain a fleet and line offering compatible with working days, without reducing service during the free period.

The measure aims to ensure the movement of voters to polling places on election days.
