Minister Flávio Dino annuls Mendonça's decision and releases posts about Brazil's patron saint

Minister Flávio Dino, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), annulled Minister André Mendonça's decision and released publications on social media about the law that transformed Our Lady of Aparecida into the "patron saint of Brazil".

The rumor that Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) would, if elected, remove the saint's title caused damage to the campaign, which requested intervention from the TSE (Superior Electoral Court). Mendonça gave a favorable decision to the candidate, justifying the contents as "notoriously untrue".

However, this Sunday (27), Dino said that posts like that of actor Antônio Tabet do not bring "a degree of certainty of illicitness to extract very harsh consequences against freedom of expression and, ultimately, against religious freedom itself".
