Turkish Statistical Institute announced motor land vehicle statistics for August.
Accordingly, the number of vehicles registered to traffic in August decreased by 20.1 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 171 thousand 887. The number of vehicles whose registrations were deleted in August increased by 34.8 percent, from 4 thousand 678 to 6 thousand 305. Thus, the total number of vehicles in traffic increased by 165 thousand 582 in August.
Of the vehicles registered to traffic in August, 47.5 percent were motorcycles, 38.4 percent were automobiles, 9.6 percent were pickup trucks, 1.6 percent were tractors, 1.6 percent were trucks, 0.8 percent were minibuses, 0.4 percent were buses and 0.1 percent were special purpose vehicles.
The number of vehicles registered to traffic in the month in question decreased by 17.2 percent compared to the previous month.
While the number of vehicles registered to traffic increased by 12.2 percent for minibuses and 0.3 percent for buses compared to the previous month, it decreased by 39.5 percent for special purpose vehicles, 32 percent for trucks, 18.2 percent for motorcycles, 16.1 percent for automobiles, 15.7 percent for pickup trucks and 15.5 percent for tractors.
In August, compared to the same month of the previous year, the number of vehicles registered to traffic increased by 12.9 percent for buses and 0.7 percent for minibuses, while it decreased by 30.5 percent for automobiles, 14 percent for special purpose vehicles, 13.6 percent for motorcycles, 11.7 percent for tractors, 10.4 percent for trucks and 4.7 percent for pickup trucks.
The number of vehicles registered in traffic exceeded 34.9 million as of the end of August
The number of vehicles registered in traffic increased by 6.3 percent in August compared to the same month last year, rising from 32 million 828 thousand 821 to 34 million 911 thousand 879.
As of the end of August, 51.7 percent of registered vehicles were automobiles, 21.8 percent were motorcycles, 14.3 percent were pickup trucks, 6.7 percent were tractors, 3 percent were trucks, 1.6 percent were minibuses, 0.6 percent were buses and 0.3 percent were special purpose vehicles.
Transferred vehicles
Of the total 917 thousand 143 vehicles transferred, 66.4 percent were recorded as automobiles, 13.7 percent as pickup trucks, 12.5 percent as motorcycles, 3 percent as tractors, 1.9 percent as trucks, 1.8 percent as minibuses, 0.5 percent as buses and 0.2 percent as special purpose vehicles.
12.3 percent of the cars registered to traffic in August were Renault, 8.5 percent were Volkswagen, 8.4 percent were Hyundai, 7.3 percent were Togg, 7.2 percent were Toyota, 5.8 percent were Peugeot, 5.2 percent were Skoda, 4.6 percent were Mercedes-Benz, 4.3 percent were Citroen, 4.2 percent were Kia. 3.7 percent were Fiat, 3.4 percent were Nissan, 3.1 percent were Opel, 2.8 percent were Volvo, 2.4 percent were Dacia, 2.4 percent were BMW, 2.3 percent were Chery, 2 percent were Audi, 1.5 percent were Honda, 1.2 percent were Jeep and 7.4 percent were other brands.
In the January-August period, the number of vehicles registered to traffic decreased by 14.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and was recorded as 1 million 342 thousand 134. The number of vehicles deregistered from traffic increased by 23.1 percent, reaching 41 thousand 641. Thus, in the January-August period, the total number of vehicles in traffic increased by 1 million 300 thousand 493.
Of the 600 thousand 859 cars registered to traffic in the January-August period, 40.8 percent were gasoline, 32.1 percent hybrid, 18.1 percent electric, 7.8 percent diesel and 1.2 percent LPG fuel.
As of the end of August, it was determined that 32 percent of the 18 million 37 thousand 907 cars registered in traffic were diesel, 31 percent were gasoline, 29.2 percent were LPG, 5 percent were hybrid and 2.6 percent were electric. The fuel type of 0.2 percent of the cars is unknown.
In the January-August period, 31.5 percent of the cars registered to traffic were 1300 and below, 16.7 percent were 1401-1500, 14.3 percent were 1501-1600, 10.6 percent were 1301-1400, 7.9 percent were 1601-2000, 1 percent were 2001 and above. It has cylinder volume.
During the period in question, 41.5 percent of the cars registered to traffic were grey, 25.5 percent were white, 12 percent were black, 9.9 percent were blue, 5.7 percent were green, 3.2 percent were red, 1.3 percent were brown, 0.3 percent were orange, 0.3 percent were yellow and 0.1 percent were other colors.
