Gaza statement from U2 frontman Bono

Rolling Stone magazine published a news article about the new album of the "U2" music group, founded in Dublin, Ireland, which was founded in 1976, to be released on November 13 after a 9-year break, with interviews of the band members.

Regarding the new album, band member Bono said, "This album was recorded during probably the most turbulent period we have all experienced. Not personally, but globally." he said.

Bono stated that in the song "The Tears of Things" from the album, they tell about the thousands of years of process that led to the events in Gaza.

"Ben-Gvir's rhetoric is terrifying"

Stating that they are trying to understand what is happening in the world, Bono stated that he condemned Hamas's attack on October 7, 2023, and that he was horrified by Ben-Gvir's statements about Gaza, such as "there are people who do not deserve to live there, they should not live, they are not even human."

Comparing Ben-Gvir to Nazi Heinrich Himmler, a close colleague of Adolf Hitler, who is seen as the chief architect of the Holocaust due to such statements, Bono said that he supports Israel but also stands by the Palestinian people to have a Palestine.

Bono made the assessment that the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court would eventually decide and end the discussions on "genocide" and said, "But there is a man, a minister in the government and he is not imprisoned... and this man (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu says, 'I need him to protect my majority (in the government)'." he said.

Bono said, "Some must make right what happened in the Nakba by making some concessions they do not want and do what is fair. Justice is the essence of Judaism." he said.

Heinrich Himmler is known as one of the most powerful figures in Nazi Germany. Himmler, who also led the paramilitary organization SS, was a prominent figure in the Jewish genocide committed by Nazi Germany during World War II.
