Suspects of transferring numbers of Russian operators to Ukrainian call centers were detained in Belarus

MINSK, September 28 - RIA Novosti. Law enforcement officers of Belarus detained suspects of transferring numbers of Russian cellular operators to Ukrainian fraudulent call centers, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

“Five people, including three minors, were detained in various regions of the country. It was established that the defendants assisted Ukrainian call centers, engaging in fraud, as well as theft of funds by modifying computer information,” the report says.

It is noted that the detainees created and administered Telegram communities, whose participants, the so-called drops, provided subscriber numbers of Russian cellular operators. “Then they were sent to Ukraine to register accounts in messengers, fraudulent calls, phishing mailings. In total, more than 2.5 thousand numbers were transferred,” the message says.
