The production manager will stand trial for mass poisoning in Novocheboksarsk

The production manager of an enterprise that supplied food to a school in Novocheboksarsk will stand trial for poisoning 230 children and adults, the prosecutor's office of Chuvashia reports.

It was established that in the fall of 2024, the accused, when providing services to provide hot meals to students at school No. 4 in Novocheboksarsk and the Novocheboksarsk Cadet Lyceum, did not ensure compliance with sanitary and epidemiological rules, allowing employees to prepare meals without proper monitoring of their health status and the use of the necessary personal protective equipment at work.

This led to mass illness and poisoning on November 15, 2024, of about 230 students and employees of the school and lyceum. The case was opened under Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules, which through negligence resulted in mass disease of people).

The criminal case was sent by the prosecutor's office to the Novocheboksarsk City Court.
