2026 Philippine Taiwan Image Exhibition Opens in Manila, Focusing on Smart Technology and Energy Transformation

The "Philippine Taiwan Image Exhibition 2026" hosted by the International Trade Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs was grandly opened in Manila on the 17th. With the theme of "Together, Building the Future", this exhibition brings together 125 Taiwanese companies, focusing on smart technology, smart manufacturing, energy transformation, smart medical and agricultural technology and other fields. Through exhibitions, forums and business matchmaking, it links the Philippine industrial development needs, helps Taiwanese companies deepen their local market layout, and expands industrial cooperation between the two sides.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Ho Jinchang said that in the face of global supply chain restructuring, digital transformation and net-zero transformation, Taiwan-Philippines economic and trade cooperation is further deepening from traditional trade to industrial chain and technological cooperation. The Philippines has a huge domestic demand market and a young population, while Taiwan has development advantages in industries such as semiconductors, information communications, smart manufacturing, and green energy. The two industries are highly complementary. We hope that through the Taiwan Image Exhibition, we can further link the companies of both parties with market needs, and transform complementary advantages into more pragmatic cooperation.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs pointed out that Taiwan-Philippines economic and trade cooperation has continued to grow in recent years. The total bilateral trade volume in 2025 will reach US$7.2 billion, an increase of 6.7% from the previous year; the bilateral trade volume in the first half of 2026 will reach US$4.289 billion. Taiwan is currently the Philippines’ seventh largest export market and tenth largest source of imports. The economic and trade exchanges between the two sides are becoming increasingly close.

This exhibition has seven theme pavilions, covering fields such as AI, smart manufacturing, energy transformation, smart medical care, and agricultural technology, showcasing Taiwan's industrial innovation energy. Among them, the smart technology-related exhibition area focuses on AIoT and smart manufacturing applications, and combines Philippine channel partners and local needs to help Taiwanese companies accurately connect with the local market; the green sustainability area displays solutions such as energy generation, energy storage, and recycling applications, responding to the Philippines' energy transformation and sustainable development needs.

This exhibition also held the "Taiwan-Japan-Philippines Industrial Cooperation Forum" for the first time, focusing on topics such as green energy and smart cities. It combined Taiwan's technological and industrial advantages, Japanese corporate experience and Philippine market needs to promote exchanges and cooperation among enterprises from the three parties and further expand diversified industrial cooperation opportunities.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs stated that the Philippines is an important partner for Taiwan in deepening its market presence in ASEAN. In the future, we will continue to link Taiwan's industrial advantages with the Philippine market demand through multiple channels such as Taiwan image exhibitions, business matchmaking, and industrial exchanges, assist companies to establish a foothold in Taiwan, expand globally, and market around the world, and deepen pragmatic cooperation between Taiwan and the Philippines in the fields of smart technology, green sustainability, and industrial supply chains.
