YAROSLAVL, September 22 – RIA Novosti. Tax revenues from the tourism industry in the Yaroslavl region increased by almost 30% over the year, said Governor Mikhail Evraev.

The governor wrote in his channel on the Max platform that the development of the tourism industry was discussed at a meeting of the relevant committee of the Yaroslavl Regional Duma. In 2025, 13.2 million people visited the Yaroslavl region, the head of the region informed.

“Together with the number of guests, the economy of the industry is also growing. Over the year, expenses and cash withdrawals in the region amounted to 39.6 billion rubles - 30% more than in 2024. Tax revenues increased by 29%. This is money that remains in the Yaroslavl region and is directed towards the development of our cities and municipal districts,” Evraev emphasized.

The governor noted that the development of the tourism industry is a powerful driver for the entire economy and additional income for the regional budget.

“At the same time, it is important that new projects create opportunities for residents: jobs are created, modern infrastructure is being built, local business is developing. This is what we will continue to focus on,” the head of the region emphasized.

According to the governor, the development of tourism allows us to attract additional federal funds and private investment to the region. New hotels are being built, restaurants are opening, services are being developed. The increase in tourist flow is facilitated by the development of transport infrastructure. Territories are being improved and pedestrian centers are being created in cities.

Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Yaroslavl Region Svetlana Kostyshina, whose words are quoted by the press service of the regional government, noted: systematic work on the development of tourism is turning the Yaroslavl region into a territory of comfortable and eventful recreation. The region ranks 10th in the sustainable development ranking according to the index of tourist attractiveness of Russian regions, and is a leader in the Central Federal District in terms of accommodation in sanatorium and resort organizations, Kostyshina emphasized.
