A video of sexual harassment of a minor girl and assault on a minor student from Jamui district of Bihar is going viral on social media.
Jamui SP Vishwajit Dayal has confirmed this video and said that the student has been identified and an FIR has been registered against unknown people.
Jamui Police has said that three accused have been arrested in this case.
Jamui SP has told the media that the viral video is of 7 pm on September 19, when both the students had gone for coaching.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has written on Twitter that the video of Jamui in Bihar is very disturbing.
Jamui MLA and state minister Shreyasi Singh has told the media that three accused have been arrested and all the accused will be arrested as soon as possible and the state government adopts a policy of zero tolerance regarding such cases.

In the viral video, minor students are sitting on a scooter and a crowd of youths have surrounded them.
During this time the student is being sexually harassed. The same student is trying to save the girl from the group of youth.
Jamui SP Vishwajeet Dayal has spoken to the media regarding this viral video.
He said, "This morning (September 21), a video came to our notice in which two minor students are being misbehaved. On the basis of the video, we identified the victim, recorded their statement and from that we came to know that this incident took place on September 19 around 7 pm. In which this boy and girl had gone for coaching."
"At the same time, he had gone for a photoshoot in the area where this incident took place. This is an incident in Jamui police station area. The accused have been identified and are taking legal action. Soon arrests will be made in this case. The victims had not given any official complaint but when they were contacted today, they gave an application on which an FIR has been registered."
"Six-seven people are seen in the frame of the viral video. No one has been named in the FIR and the accused have been identified only through investigation."
Rahul Gandhi asked questions
Political reactions have also intensified on this video. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has written on Twitter, "A video from Jamui, Bihar is very disturbing. A Class 10 boy and a girl student were forcibly stopped on the road. They were harassed, humiliated and the student was harassed. The girl kept pleading with folded hands to let him go, but the goons kept touching her inappropriately and pulling her."
"Who gave these people the right to behave like this? This is not 'culture', this is patriarchy: the idea that any man has control over a girl's body, her comings and goings and her likes and dislikes. When the 'blind devotees' normalize such thinking by considering control as culture, then the crowd starts thinking that it is the law."
"Every person seen in that video should be identified and those criminals should be prosecuted under POCSO and punished as soon as possible. And if this incident happened on September 19, then why are the culprits not behind the bars till now? And the Bihar government should answer that why is no girl safe on the roads of the state at seven in the evening?"
Bihar minister and Jamui MLA Shreyasi Singh has given a statement on this incident. He told the media, "The kind of incident that has happened in Jamui is an incident that puts the society to shame. This happened on the evening of 19th and no FIR was lodged with the administration."
"The administration took cognizance of the pictures and videos on social media and registered an FIR. Not only was action taken promptly, three arrests have already been made. I have directed the Jamui administration to arrest all the culprits from the tower location. The government is serious and the Chief Minister has adopted a policy of zero tolerance."
Bihar State Women Commission Chairperson Apsara Mishra has told the media that she has talked to Jamui DM about this and got detailed information from him.
She said, "DM has told that this incident happened on the border of Lakhisarai and Jamui. DM has told that those people have been identified and FIR has been registered. Whatever action will be taken, he will give information about this, and I will also write a letter and email to the SP regarding this."
Regarding this incident, LJP (R), an ally in the coalition government of Bihar, has made a post on X. In this, the party has written, "The incident of abuse and molestation of two minors in Jamui is extremely painful and condemnable. Our sympathies are with their families in this difficult time."
"Police have taken suo motu cognizance of the matter and registered an FIR and the culprits have also been arrested. No culprit will be spared, the law will take its course and justice will be ensured."
