Today and tomorrow (29th-30th), Taiwan will be affected by southwesterly winds. The overall atmospheric environment is relatively stable and there is less water vapor. Most places will maintain sunny and cloudy weather, and the overall chance of rainfall is not high. During the day, the temperature in various places will be hot, with high temperatures generally reaching 33 to 35 degrees. On Thursday (October 1), the northeast monsoon will move south, and the weather will change in the north and east.

Lin Xiaoru, an analyst at the Weather Risk Company, said on Facebook that the Greater Taipei Basin, western interior and East Rift Valley will have a high temperature of around 36 degrees today. It will feel quite hot around noon, so you should wear sunscreen and drink more water during outdoor activities. Affected by heat in the afternoon, there are still opportunities for sporadic short-term showers to develop in mountainous areas. However, the overall convection range is limited, and stable weather can be maintained in most flat areas.

From Thursday to the weekend, as the high pressure from the north moves southward, Taiwan will shift to the influence of the northeast monsoon, and the weather will see a more obvious change. Clouds will increase in the north and east, and there will gradually be opportunities for short-term showers; the central and southern parts are located on the leeward side, and the impact will be relatively limited. It will still be mainly cloudy or sunny, with only local short-term shower opportunities in the mountainous areas in the afternoon.

Lin Xiaoru pointed out that this wave of northeast monsoon does not have obvious strong cold air moving southward. However, due to the increase in cloud cover and local rainfall in the north and northeast, the daytime high temperature will drop from the current 34 to 36 degrees to around 28 to 31 degrees, and the feeling of heat will be significantly alleviated. The cooling rate in the central and southern parts is smaller, and the high temperature is still 32 to 35 degrees, and the feeling is still hot.

In early October, there are still signs of tropical system development in the northwest Pacific, and there is a possibility that it will further intensify or even develop into a typhoon. However, the current forecast is that the probability of moving northward in the far ocean is relatively high, and the direct impact on Taiwan is low.
