The oil refinery unit in the Libyan city of al-Zawiya is shut down due to an oil pipeline blockage

One of the blocks of the oil refinery in the Libyan city of al-Zawiya was stopped due to the blocking of an oil pipeline by an armed group, the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported.

“The National Oil Corporation of Libya announced the forced shutdown of one of the refining units at the al-Zawiya refinery due to the ongoing forced blocking of the valve of the oil pipeline through which oil from the Sharara field is transported,” the Libyan corporation said in a communiqué.

They noted that experts are studying the possibility of organizing the supply of oil through one of the ports to supply the refinery and ensure its further operation.

Earlier it was reported that due to the blocking of the pipeline by an armed group, oil production volumes at the Sharara field were reduced.
