See the pedestrian hell again! A woman surnamed Hong (61 years old) in Taichung was walking on Henan Road in Xitun District last night. When she was crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing, she was hit by a man surnamed Lin (59 years old) driving an SUV while turning left. Hong's woman died after being sent to the hospital. Lin did not drink or drive. He was driving under the influence of drugs, but he argued that he didn't see anyone when he turned. It was once reported that Mr. Lin had deliberately rolled him back and forth. However, the police found no such behavior after reviewing the surveillance cameras. The whole case was investigated as negligent death. The cause of death will be clarified by the prosecutor today.

The Taichung Sixth Precinct received a report at 6:48 pm last night, alleging that a car hit a woman surnamed Hong (61 years old) at the intersection of Section 3 of Wenxin Road and Section 2 of Henan Road in Xitun District. Hong was seriously injured and still died in the hospital.

Preliminary police investigation found that the man surnamed Lin (59 years old) was driving an SUV and drove along the left lane of Section 2 of Henan Road and turned left toward Wenxin Road. The woman surnamed Hong (61 years old) was walking along the pedestrian crossing of Henan Road. Lin hit the woman on the sidewalk and crushed her.

Lin Nan's alcohol test and drug saliva rapid screening did not reveal any drunk driving or drug driving. He argued that he did not see the person when he was turning and hit him.

Regarding the rumors, Mr. Lin deliberately ran over the woman after hitting her. The police did not find this behavior after preliminary review of the surveillance cameras. The whole case is currently under investigation for negligent death. Today, it will be submitted to the prosecutor of the Taichung District Prosecutor's Office for examination. The detailed cause of the accident will be investigated by the appraisal unit. The intersection monitor screen will be reviewed to clarify whether Mr. Lin yielded to pedestrians when turning left and who was responsible for the accident.
