Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that 222 thousand young people got married and gave birth to 22 thousand babies with the Family and Youth Fund.

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş attended the "Meeting Program with Couples Benefiting from the Support of Young People Getting Married Project" held in Gölbaşı district of Ankara.

Göktaş met with young couples in the program held at Hakimevi and gave information about family-oriented studies.

Minister Göktaş stated that it is important for them to support young people to establish a home and said, "Ensuring that our young people establish a home on the path to marriage and supporting them is very valuable and valuable for us."

222 THOUSAND COUPLES WERE SUPPORTED WITH THE FAMILY AND YOUTH FUND

Reminding that the Family and Youth Fund was created in 2024, Göktaş said that the application was first started as a pilot project in 5 provinces in the earthquake zone.

Stating that the project was later implemented in 3 more provinces with low fertility rates, Göktaş stated that the support was spread throughout Türkiye within the scope of the 2025 Family Year.

Göktaş said, "We are very happy to currently marry 222 thousand young people throughout Turkey with the support of the Family and Youth Fund. You are considered our children, and they are our grandchildren."

EDUCATION AND CREDIT SUPPORT FOR COUPLES

Stating that they organized a 2-day training program for the couples who will get married before the marriage, Göktaş said that they continue to support the couples after the marriage.

Pointing out that the first years of marriage are especially important, Göktaş stated that they aim to support a strong family structure with guidance and consultancy services.

Giving information about birth support, Göktaş stated that 5 thousand liras are provided for the first child, 1,500 liras per month for the second child, and 5 thousand liras per month for the third and subsequent children until the children turn 5 years old.

Göktaş said that among the couples who benefit from the interest-free loans given within the scope of the Family and Youth Fund, those who have children have a postponement in their loan payments, and for some couples with two children, the loan is fully granted.

In his statement regarding the couples who got married within the scope of the project and had children, Minister Göktaş said, "We have already married 222 thousand young people across Turkey and had 22 thousand babies. We count babies every day, thanks to you."

Pointing out that the population in Turkey is aging, Göktaş stated that 58 percent of the households do not have children under the age of 18 and that efforts to strengthen the family structure will continue.

Göktaş stated that young people who benefit from marriage loan support will be among the priority groups in social housing projects and said, "We will continue to build strong families in safe homes."
