Bentley's first electric SUV model, Torcal, was introduced

Bentley officially introduced the Bentley Torcal electric SUV, the first fully electric model that it has been working on for a long time and is highly anticipated. This new model, built on Volkswagen Group's Porsche PPE architecture, carries the brand's traditional design language to the electric world.

The five-meter-long vehicle has a slightly shorter body structure than the Bentayga model. Torcal, which bears traces of the EXP 15 Concept Car model in its design, draws attention with its illuminated front grille and strong lines.

Performance and Technical Details

Torcal has the title of being the most powerful car the brand has ever produced, thanks to its dual-engine installation. The S version, the top model of the series, can produce a total of 876 horsepower.

This high performance allows the vehicle to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. This acceleration data takes the Torcal model to a level that can compete with many super sports cars.

The 113 kWh capacity battery pack in the vehicle offers a range of 375 miles on a single charge. This range value allows Bentley to position the vehicle as a suitable option for daily use throughout the year.

On the charging technology side, fast charging support up to 400 kW stands out. Thanks to this feature, it takes less than 20 minutes for the battery to reach 80 percent charge from 10 percent.

The basic chassis, suspension and powertrain of the Torcal model consist of components shared with Porsche. Despite this partnership, Bentley emphasizes that the design of the vehicle completely reflects its own DNA.

Bentley's New World of Sound

Bentley has developed a special sound system called "Bentley Dynamic Symphony" to compensate for the lack of engine sound in electric vehicles. This system provides feedback to the driver using recordings of real instruments such as drums, viola and bass guitar.

The system changes the intensity of the sound as the engine speed increases, making it felt to the driver and becoming more noticeable in Sport mode. In addition, the signal sound in the vehicle is inspired by the hammer sounds used during leather processing in the Bentley workshop.

In the interior, physical buttons and dials are preserved and the traditional Bentley texture is continued. Comfort Mode on the infotainment screen reduces elements that will distract the driver, while the digital detox option hides unnecessary information on the screens.

The starting price of the Torcal model is 173,300 pounds, and the price of the more performance Torcal S version is 199,300 pounds. The first deliveries are planned to be made in the summer of 2027.
