Candidate Gabriel Souza fulfills campaign agenda in Porto Alegre and answers the question about flooding in Vale do Taquari

Candidate for the government of Rio Grande do Sul for the MDB, Gabriel Souza fulfilled campaign commitments this Monday (28). He was in Porto Alegre.

The vice-governor participated in a meeting at the campaign's central committee to align actions before October 4th, when the 1st round of elections will be held. The team defined strategies for the week, planning walks, mobilizations and contact with voters who have not yet decided on their vote.

Until October 2nd, candidates for the government of Rio Grande do Sul will answer questions asked directly by voters interviewed by RBS TV. There will be six themes, one each week: security, health, education, infrastructure, economy and climate disaster prevention. In total, 86 voters will have their questions answered.

Candidates will have 30 seconds to present their answers. Of the seven candidates, three will respond each day. The order of appearance takes into account the most recent electoral survey commissioned by Grupo RBS, released this Monday (24).

Regarding climate change prevention, the candidate chose the question from voter Tainá, from Lajeado, in Vale do Taquari. "The house where I grew up and my parents still live in Estrela had never been hit by floods until 2023. In less than 3 years, there were 3 floods. What is your government plan to reorganize and plan the cities and regions where this climate event has occurred more frequently?", asked Tainá.

"The state of Rio Grande do Sul has an action plan to improve climate resilience, preparing the state for events like this, which is the Rio Grande Plan. There are 240 ongoing actions, already concluded, which are enabling the removal of thousands of gauchos from risk zones. In Vale do Taquari, for example, we have several projects to remove people from risk zones, precisely to protect them, ensure that these zones are not occupied and relocate families. Therefore, in my government, there will be speed with this plan and not delay in the schedule. I know each of the projects, I know what to do, I will speed them up", said Gabriel.
