Lavrov stated the need to abandon Western-imposed financial mechanisms

As soon as Western countries wanted to punish Russia, all their statements about a fair economic system were forgotten. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said this. He was quoted by RIA Novosti.

In addition, he pointed out the need to move away from those currencies and mechanisms that were imposed during the period of globalization according to the Western model. At the same time, Lavrov clarified that Russia is not against the dollar and has not refused to use it.

“We were denied a dollar. So, do they want us to now sit and exchange what we need for beads? No, it won’t be like that,” the minister said.

In the summer, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov stated that the share of the dollar in international payments remains high. However, this figure is declining. Peskov explained this not by the fact that countries are abandoning this currency, but by the fact that its issuer is trying to impose its own rules.
