Fire in L'Ametlla del Vallès residence leaves 70 people affected

A fire declared this Tuesday night in a residence in L'Ametlla del Vallès, in Barcelona, ​​has left 70 people affected: 37 have been treated and another 33 remain confined awaiting evaluation, as reported by the Medical Emergency Service of the Generalitat (SEM). Eight people have been transferred in a less serious condition due to smoke inhalation, four to the Granollers Hospital and four to the Mollet Hospital.

The fire originated on the first floor of a four-story building located on Llerona Street, according to the information available.

The fire has affected several rooms on the 1st floor and, as a preventive measure, all the people on that floor and the 2nd floor have been evacuated, out of a total of 80 users and 6 workers who were in the residence.

The fire has already been extinguished and firefighters are working to put out hot spots and ventilate, since the 2nd floor has also been affected by smoke, they have added in X.

The majority of residents were, initially, evacuated from the 1st and 2nd floors and transferred to a safe, smoke-free area located on the ground floor of the same residence, while some smoke has reached the 3rd floor, although the situation has been controlled and users have been confined to the rooms.

Firefighters check hot spots, ventilate the facilities and check rooms on all floors.

Of the 13 vehicles that have intervened, seven are water trucks, one ladder truck and five light vehicles.
