Illegal citizenship operation based in Izmir: 3 suspects in custody

Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the suspects operating based in Izmir irregularly carried out the transactions of Syrian nationals who wanted to acquire Turkish citizenship by forging official documents and obtained unfair profits in return for these activities.

As part of the investigation, an operation was carried out against 3 suspects today, as a result of the work carried out in line with the information and evidence obtained after the statements of 43 foreign nationals were taken as suspects.

A total of 3 suspects, 2 in Izmir and 1 in Ankara, were caught and detained by the Izmir Provincial Police Department's Anti-Immigrant Smuggling and Border Gates Branch Directorate teams.

During the searches carried out at the suspects' residences and workplaces, 49 thousand 700 lira, 3 foreign national identity documents, 2 foreign national passports, 3 temporary protection identity documents and 3 laptop computers were seized.
