Microsoft abandoned the Copilot+ brand for new computers

Microsoft has abandoned the popular name for new computers. Windows Central reports this.

In 2024, Microsoft began producing computers called Copilot+ - models that had support for artificial intelligence (AI) functions. The company also forced partners to use this brand for their devices. In the fall of 2026, it became clear that the company had buried this trademark.

In an interview with Windows Central, Surface division vice president Brett Ostrum confirmed that the company will no longer use Copilot+. However, future computers with Windows 11 will continue to support AI features. “It seems very clear that the Copilot+ PC brand has not caught on in the market,” said portal editor Zach Bowden, emphasizing that computers with Copilot support have actually failed to sell.

Bowden also noted that none of the Microsoft Surface computers released in 2026 have Copilot+. At the same time, the corporation used this name for devices in 2025.
