Mongaguá donates land to Minha Casa, Minha Vida and provides up to 60% of the units for servers

An area of 6,800 m² is located in Jardim Santana and should receive developments of social interest. Municipal employees will have to meet income criteria and other requirements of the federal program.

A municipal law authorized Mongaguá City Hall to donate a 6,830.44 m² plot of land in Jardim Santana. The area will receive housing from the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program.

The housing will be allocated to families that meet the federal program's income criteria.

The law provides for the reservation of up to 60% of housing for municipal employees, who must have an active employment relationship and not own another residential property.

Units not occupied by them will be redirected to the housing demand registered in the municipality.

The donation instrument will establish deadlines for the works. If the project is not implemented within the deadline or the purpose changes, the land will return to municipal assets.

A municipal law authorized the City Hall of Mongaguá, on the coast of São Paulo, to allocate a public area of 6,830.44 m², in Jardim Santana, for the construction of housing under the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program, in the MCMV Cidades modality.

The land is located between Rua Célia, Avenida Padre Manoel da Nóbrega, Avenida Padre José de Anchieta and Rua Cezar. According to the city hall, the area should be used exclusively for the implementation of a housing project of social interest.

Who can receive the units?

The homes will be allocated to families that meet the eligibility criteria and income ranges defined by the Federal Government for Minha Casa, Minha Vida.

The law also provides that up to 60% of the units may be reserved for current municipal public servants. To receive a property in this quota, however, the employee must prove an active connection with the municipal administration and meet the income criteria and other requirements of the federal program.

Among the conditions foreseen are not having another residential property in the country and not having previously benefited from a social housing program promoted by the public authorities.

What happens if vacancies are not filled?

If the units reserved for employees are not fully occupied, the remaining vacancies must be allocated to the population registered in the municipality's housing demand, in accordance with social registries and the priority criteria of the municipal housing policy.

The selection of beneficiaries must follow objective criteria, with disclosure of the registration and selection processes, in addition to the rules established by the Federal Government and the financial agent responsible for the enterprise.

Land may return to municipal heritage

The law determines that the land be used exclusively for the housing development and provides that the donation instrument establishes deadlines for the beginning and completion of works.

According to the municipal administration, if the project is not implemented within the established deadlines or the area is used for another purpose, the land may return to the municipality's assets.
