Such a set should include: bottled water and filters or water purification tablets; first aid kit, personal medicines, hygiene and disinfectants; documents and their copies on a pendrive, cash in various denominations; a flashlight, a battery-operated or crank-operated radio, a charged phone, a power bank, a charger, spare batteries; pocket knife or multitool, lighter, garbage bags, printed maps; highly nutritious ready-to-eat food, e.g. energy bars, dried fruit or dried fruit; an important personal item, e.g. a photo or a family souvenir; weather-appropriate clothing, raincoat, sleeping bag, sleeping pad and thermal foil; alternative means of communication, such as walkie-talkies.

It is worth making sure that neighbors are aware of the alarm, and people with disabilities, the elderly or other special needs should be provided with support wherever possible. Joint help may prove crucial in a difficult situation.

When evacuating, use designated routes and organized transportation where available. You can also go on foot to the place indicated by the services. If you are driving, remember not to block escape routes.

If you use help from unknown people, do not give them your documents. For your safety, always inform your loved ones about your plans, current location and the registration number of the vehicle you are traveling in.

Pets also require care during an evacuation. If it is not possible to take them, they must be properly secured and provided with water and food during their absence.
