The value of the Nobel Prize will increase by one million Swedish kronor

From October, the value of the Nobel Prize will increase by as much as one million Swedish crowns.

As Hanna Stjärne, executive director of the Nobel Foundation, emphasizes, the decision to increase the prize is crucial to maintaining the prestige and financial value of the distinction.

“By increasing the amount of the award, we are taking care of the long-term importance of the Nobel Prize and ensuring that its financial part will retain its value over the years,” reads the official statement.

When will this year's winners be announced?

This year, the announcement of the winners will begin on October 5 and will last until October 12. We will then learn the names of people who will be distinguished in the fields of physics, chemistry, literature, medicine or physiology, economics and activities for peace.

This year's edition is special - it is the 125th anniversary of the awarding of the first Nobel Prizes.
