Military Police arrest suspect of supplying weapons to criminal factions in Guarapari

According to Lieutenant Leopoldino, from the Military Police, the man supplied weapons to criminal factions. The weapons would be used by the groups in disputes with rival organizations and also in clashes with security forces.

According to the lieutenant, the suspect lived in a residence far from the urban area. According to the military, this would be behavior adopted to avoid attracting attention.

"With this information [about him selling firearms], the teams were able to identify the residence, today, in the rural area of ​​Guarapari. And [staying in houses in isolated areas] is a profile of this type of criminal, who exerts a strong influence according to their position in a given criminal organization. They don't stay crowded, they always try to be outside [the urban area] and pretending to be ordinary citizens so as not to attract attention", he explained.

The suspect was taken to the Federal Police headquarters, in the São Torquato neighborhood, in Vila Velha. His name was not released.

"This daily work [of arresting drug traffickers] is extremely important, but here we catch an individual who supplied [weapons] to this number of factions. And, more than that, with a very well-done investigation, we are able to classify him, according to the information gathered, in a crime with greater potential, which has a better penalty. So, he stays in the prison system for longer."
