A special working visit was held in Poland with the participation of media representatives from Türkiye, within the scope of the "Poland Business Forward" program by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), which operates under the Polish Ministry of Development and Technology.
With the program organized in line with the "Brand HUB" initiative of the Polish Ministry of Development and Technology, the innovative potential of the country's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in electromobility and sustainable automotive solutions was introduced.
In this context, a visit was organized to the transportation services of the municipality in the city of Katowice, and within the scope of the visit, information was given about the city's studies and projects compatible with transportation and new mobility.
Following this visit, the centrally located bus garage, which plays an important role in the transportation of the city, was introduced. During this visit, the media team from Türkiye was shown that public transportation is carried out by electric buses and the charging stations that form the component of the electric bus infrastructure.
Visit to important companies in Poland's automotive industry
The New Mobility Congress, which is the sectoral meeting of Central and Eastern Europe in the field of sustainable transportation and was held for the 10th time this year, was visited.
In the organization that brought together thousands of decision makers, industry leaders and experts, sessions focused on smart urbanism, energy infrastructures, climate policies and deep technology transformation were followed.
At the Congress, Polish Automotive Group (PGM) Managing Director Bartosz Mielecki and New Mobility Association (PSNM) Board Member Aleksander Rajch met with the Turkish press team.
During these meetings, new mobility movements in Europe, Poland and Türkiye, sectoral situations, and cooperation areas and opportunities between Türkiye and Poland were touched upon.
PGM Executive Director Mielecki explained that European suppliers face many challenges at the same time, such as increasing energy costs, wages, price pressures from vehicle manufacturers and expensive technology changes.
Mielecki said, "Chinese brands increased their market share in the Polish market from 6 percent to approximately 13 percent in one year, but thanks to Türkiye's Customs Union with the EU, a vehicle produced in Türkiye can enter the EU without the import tariff that Chinese vehicles have to pay, which is a great competitive advantage for Türkiye." he said.
"In-depth cooperation between Türkiye and Poland in the field of batteries and electronic systems is always possible."
The factory of IMPACT, Poland's leading battery manufacturer, was the last place visited within the scope of the program.
Here, senior managers of the company shared information about the company's development, partners, battery production processes, R&D facility and production line.
IMPACT Business Unit Director Sebastian Wojtas told the AA correspondent that in-depth cooperation between Turkey and Poland in the field of batteries and electronic systems is always possible, and that they closely follow Türkiye's development in the field of electric mobility and technology.
Wojtas noted that one of the metro lines in Warsaw was built by a Turkish company, and that Turkish companies also had important signatures on the highway and submarine tunnel projects in Poland, and said, "Baykar products supplied from Türkiye played an important role in the critical days of the Russia-Ukraine war. The Polish army was also equipped with similar systems in this process, and this increased the potential for future technological cooperation between the two countries." he said.
With the said work program carried out by PAIH within the scope of the "Poland Business Forward" program, there was an opportunity to examine the production and R&D facilities of Poland's leading automotive components and new generation mobility manufacturers on-site, while cooperation opportunities between the two countries were also discussed in one-on-one meetings with company managers.
