Life imprisonment sentences for 6 detained defendants in the Sakarya Serdivan neighbor fight case

The verdict was announced in the case in which 16 defendants, 6 of whom were arrested, were tried regarding the neighbor fight in Serdivan district of Sakarya, in which 5 people died and 5 people were injured last year.

The defendants and their lawyers attended the hearing held at Sakarya 1st High Criminal Court. The hearing was held in camera due to the defendants under the age of 18.

Announcing its decision, the court panel sentenced the detained defendants Nihat, Nurettin, Sabri Tamer and Samet Y to 3 life imprisonments each for the crime of "intentional murder", a total of 27 years imprisonment each for the crime of "attempted deliberate murder", and 3 years' imprisonment and a judicial fine of 75 thousand for the crime of "opposition to the Law on Firearms, Knives and Other Tools".

The committee sentenced Tolga Y, a minor detainee at the time of the incident, to 14 years imprisonment three times for the crime of "deliberate murder", to a total of 17 years and 12 months in total for the crime of "attempted intentional murder", and to 2 years imprisonment and a judicial fine of 50 thousand for "violation of the Law on Firearms, Knives and Other Tools", and sentenced the defendant Nesrin Ö to 1 year and 8 months imprisonment for the crime of "destroying, concealing or altering criminal evidence". and decided to postpone the announcement of the verdict.

The court sentenced Fikri Uğur U, who was an underage detainee at the time of the incident, to 14 years' imprisonment twice for "deliberate murder", a total of 29 years and 20 months for "attempted deliberate murder", and 3 years' imprisonment and a judicial fine of 50 thousand for "violation of the Law on Firearms, Knives and Other Tools".

Unarrested defendants Galip Ö. The committee acquitted Taner, Selim, Bayram, Bahri Taner, Ferhat and Burak Y. and minors A.E.Y. and F.K. of all the crimes charged against them, and decided to continue the detention of the 6 defendants.

In the armed fight that broke out between two neighboring families on 3167th Street in Beşköprü District on April 6, 2025, Y.Ö, O.Ö, Ö.Ö. with V.Y. and F.Y. lost their lives and 5 people were injured.

In the 28-page indictment prepared by the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, life imprisonment was requested twice for Galip Ö and three times life imprisonment for relatives Nihat, Nurettin, Sabri Tamer, Samet, Bahri Taner, Bayram, Ferhat, Selim and Taner Y for the crime of "intentional murder".

In the indictment, Galip Ö. was accused of "deliberate attempted murder". 4 imprisonment sentences were requested for Nihat, Nurettin, Sabri Tamer, Samet, Bahri Taner, Bayram, Ferhat, Selim and Taner Y., and 2 imprisonment sentences from 10 to 18 years were requested for each of them.

It was requested that all 10 defendants be sentenced to imprisonment from 2 to 4 years each for the crime of "violating the Law on Firearms, Knives and Other Tools".

Also Galip Ö. and Nesrin Ö, the undetained defendant, were requested to be imprisoned from 6 months to 5 years for the crime of "destroying, concealing or altering criminal evidence".

The files of Tolga and Burak Y., who were minors at the time, and Fikri Uğur U, A.E.Y., and F.K, who were investigated separately and sued for the same crimes, were combined with this file.
