Investigation into the Collegium Humanum case and the issue of Szymon Hołownia's immunity

Collegium Humanum was established in 2018 in Warsaw. The findings of the investigation show that false certificates of completion of MBA studies, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees, were issued there. Former rector of Collegium Humanum Paweł Cz. Together with other people, he allegedly accepted financial and personal benefits many times in exchange for issuing documents confirming untruths. According to the National Prosecutor's Office, documenting fictitious studies and issuing unreliable certificates was possible thanks to the cooperation of the rector, university employees and other people, including those holding public functions in state and local government institutions.

Throughout the entire investigation, a total of 407 charges have been brought against 84 suspects so far. Temporary arrest was imposed on 13 suspects. The value of the property secured in the proceedings exceeds PLN 176 million. In November 2024, Newsweek reported that the Collegium Humanum IT system contained Szymon Hołownia's grades and documents.

"No signs of a prohibited act"

Paweł Śliz, a Polish 2050 politician, was asked in today's Morning Interview on RMF FM whether the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, should have his immunity lifted.

I can't say everything here, because I also know this aspect as a lawyer. I believe that the circumstances underlying the waiver of Szymon Hołownia's immunity should not take place in the proceedings at all. Not because it's about Szymon Hołownia, but I know the circumstances, I know the case. There are no signs of a prohibited act on the part of Marshal Hołownia - said our guest.

He added that he saw no grounds to submit a request to waive the immunity of Marshal Hołownia.

Now, if they want, law enforcement authorities will submit this application to the Sejm - through the Prosecutor General to the Speaker of the Sejm, and then the Sejm will make a decision both in the Rules Committee and later in the Sejm - added MP Śliz.

In recent weeks, it has been said that Szymon Hołownia may join the government. Will it happen?

From my conversations with Szymon Hołownia, and they are regular and frequent - no. He became the head of the parliamentary club after a unanimous decision of the entire club. Not only mine, Szymon's, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz's. It was the decision of the entire club, our entire environment - thinking about Poland 2050, about the Poland 2050 Club, but also thinking about Poland 2027, i.e. about the elections that will take place - said Paweł Śliz on our air.
