Suspicion of rape in Rimini: German tourist files a complaint

A 17-year-old tourist from Germany woke up in a 27-year-old man's hotel room after visiting a disco in Rimini, Italy. According to the teenager, she has no memory of the night's events. She expressed to her friends the suspicion that she might have been given knockout drops and raped. The Italian police are investigating suspicions of rape.

The young person had visited a discotheque with friends the evening before. According to her friends, she met a Turkish man there. After the party, she is said to have left the club with the 27-year-old. After that, the group lost contact with her. Numerous calls and messages went unanswered. This is reported by the Italian news agency Ansa.

It wasn't until hours later that the teenager contacted her friends. She reported that she woke up in a hotel room with the man. She was confused and couldn't remember anything from the previous night.

The investigators from the Squadra Mobile, a special unit of the Italian State Police for serious crimes, are investigating the suspicion that the young person may have been given drugs due to the gap in memory.

The officers searched the 27-year-old's hotel room. The man is also a tourist and was staying in the same hotel as the German group. Personal items and his cell phone were confiscated.

According to current information, the 27-year-old has no previous convictions and denies the crime.
