Yemen Army Conducts Air Strike on Houthis in Taiz and Hudaydah

The Yemeni army carried out an air attack on the positions of the Houthis (Ansarullah Movement) in Taiz and Hudaydah in the west of the country.

In the statement made by the Yemen Army Press Center, "Warplanes belonging to our armed forces carried out more than 15 air strikes on the positions, assembly areas and military vehicles of the terrorist Houthis on the western coastal fronts of Taiz and Hodeidah provinces." statements were included.

The statement stated that the warplanes provided air support to the ground forces and bombed Houthi positions on the Hays front west of Taiz for the first time.

While no further details were given on the issue, no statement has been made by the Houthis yet.

The attack is the first since the tensions escalated in July.

Since Thursday morning, there have been violent clashes between the Yemeni army and the Houthis on many fronts in Taiz and Hudaydah provinces, close to the strategic Babulmandeb Strait.

It was reported that there were dead and injured people from both sides in the clashes.

The latest escalation is considered to be part of the series of mutual attacks that started last July, ending the relative calm that has prevailed on the fronts since the United Nations (UN) ceasefire in July 2022.

While the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have been in control of the capital Sanaa and some regions since September 2014, the internationally recognized government and its forces control large areas in the south, east and west of the country.
