The first batch of 20 cultural, museum, cultural and tourism units and academic research institutions along the Great Wall jointly issued the "Joint Initiative on Building a Great Wall Narrative Community."
On the same day, the "Great Wall Gallery" cultural space of the China Great Wall Museum in Shanhaiguan officially opened, and for the first time exhibited three Great Wall-themed oil paintings, "Peace in the Clear Sea", "Snow in Jiayu" and "Rising Sun in the Stone Gorge" created by Zhao Chen, dean of the China Great Wall Research Institute, doctoral supervisor and professor of Northeastern University. The exhibited works are spread out along the geographical context of the Great Wall starting from the old dragon head of Shanhaiguan on the coast of the Bohai Sea in the east, to Xiongguan in Jiayu Gobi in Hexi Province in the west, and finally to the ancient village of Shixia in northern Beijing, connecting the three major era coordinates of the protection and development of the cultural heritage of the Great Wall.
Zhao Chen said that the painting was the result of decades of on-the-ground fieldwork and historical research, and depicts the transformation of the Great Wall from an ancient border barrier to a representative symbol of the Chinese nation and the cultural root of prosperity and prosperity for the people. It uses oil paint to praise the prosperous scene of stable mountains and rivers and sustainable cultural heritage.
Feng Zhen, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the China Great Wall Museum in Shanhaiguan, introduced that this exhibition is the launch of the "Great Wall Gallery" cultural space of the China Great Wall Museum in Shanhaiguan. From then on, special art exhibitions with the theme of the Great Wall will be launched on a regular basis, bringing together diverse art works to fully demonstrate the artistic charm of the Great Wall, and continue to tell the story of the Great Wall and inherit the spirit of the Great Wall.
Pang Yinbao, member and vice chairman of the Qinhuangdao CPPCC Party Group, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, saying that Qinhuangdao, as a city embraced by the Great Wall and the sea, is an important pioneer section in the construction of the Great Wall National Cultural Park. In view of the practical problems existing in the protection of the Great Wall, such as segmentation of research, fragmentation of interpretation, and isolation of communication, representatives of cultural museums and cultural tourism units along the Great Wall, experts and scholars from research institutions, and Great Wall conservation workers proposed breaking regional barriers, connecting forces along the line, and building a Great Wall narrative community with the complete linear heritage of the Great Wall as the object and cultural and museum institutions along the line as the main body.
