A resident of Primorye, Anna, caught six poisonous puffer fish in the Ussuri Bay near Vladivostok in one day.

Scientists have reported that tropical fish species, including fugu, are increasingly entering the waters of Primorye.

Anna learned to distinguish the “behavior” of a pufferfish on a hook, distinguishing it from the behavior of other fish.

VLADIVOSTOK, September 29 - RIA Novosti. A resident of Primorye, Anna, told RIA Novosti how she caught six poisonous puffer fish in a day in the Ussuri Bay near Vladivostok and by the end of the day she began to distinguish their “behavior.”

Scientists previously reported that tropical fish species, including puffer, are increasingly entering the waters of Primorye following warm currents.

“When the fugu was hooked for the first time, I didn’t even realize that it was her, I thought that it was a big flounder... it was pulling hard... there was resistance. I was delighted: “Wow, what a flounder!” And then I pulled it out - such a big head, the fugu is so large. My husband said: “Oh, fugu, fugu.” And I, frankly, was not happy about such a catch,” said Anna.

She explained her reaction. “My husband threatened me that she was poisonous, that one fugu (with its poison - ed.) could kill 30 people. But, apparently, she fell in love with me and began to catch me,” the interlocutor said.

Anna added that by the end of the day she had already begun to distinguish the “behavior” of this fish.

“I already understood that this was a pufferfish (caught - ed.), because it has a peculiar behavior: it pulls, rests. Unlike mackerel, which pulls (the hook - ed.) down, and the puffer pulls in all directions: to the side, to the left, and it has such powerful impulses. And very often it happened like this - you pull it out, there is no hook, that is, she got off (from it - ed.),” Anna explained, clarifying that she then sent the fugu back to the sea.
