Musa Messi Acar and Ishak Demir, two of the three defendants who stabbed Sinan Baran Çelik (21) and injured him and caused his spleen to be removed during the fight that broke out after an argument with the allegation of 'making flashlights' in traffic in Antalya, were sentenced to 11 years and 8 months each, 'child in the judicial process' B.A.K. (18) was sentenced to 7 years, 9 months and 10 days in prison.
The incident took place on September 9, 2024, at around 21.30 in Muratpaşa district. An argument broke out between the people in the car driven by Şeyhmus Çelik and the people on the motorcycles driven by Musa Messi Acar and İshak Demir, due to using flashlights in traffic.
Allegedly, people on motorcycles followed the car, including Sinan Baran Çelik.
After a while, the discussion turned into a fight when the parties met at a red light.
During the fight, Musa Messi Acar allegedly injured Sinan Baran Çelik with a knife. Çelik, who was injured in various parts of his body and underwent surgery at the hospital, had his spleen, which was damaged by a knife blow, removed by doctors.
INDICTMENT HAS BEEN PREPARED
In the indictment prepared by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted in Sinan Baran Çelik's statement that during the fight, a member of the group shouted 'Kill, kill', and Musa Messi Acar stabbed Sinan Baran Çelik.
It was stated that Çelik was operated on due to stab wounds and his injured spleen was removed, which is a permanent loss of function of one of the organs.
Prosecutor's Office; He evaluated that the action was carried out with the intent to kill, taking into account the suitability of the knife used to kill, the targeted body part, the number of blows and the nature of the injury.
In the indictment, it was requested that one of the people on the motorcycle, B.A.K., the 'child in the judicial process', be punished for the crime of 'deliberate attempt to kill', claiming that he acted in 'unity of thought and action' with Musa Messi Acar and Ishak Demir. An indictment was prepared against Musa Messi Acar and İshak Demir and a lawsuit was filed in Antalya 3rd High Criminal Court.

Musa Messi Acar, İshak Demir and B.A.K appeared before the judge in the case heard at Antalya 3rd High Criminal Court. At the end of the trial, the court decided that Musa Melih Acar and İshak Demir should be sentenced to 11 years and 8 months in prison for the crime of "deliberate attempt to murder", and that B.A.K. should be sentenced to 7 years, 9 months and 10 days in prison for the crime of "deliberate attempt to murder".

Sinan Baran Çelik's lawyer, Neşet Kocaman, stated that the defendants were punished after a 2-year trial and said, "The argument started with an argument such as 'You made flashlights, why did you honk the horn?'. Subsequently, the client and the other persons in the car move away from the area to avoid trouble. The persons on motorcycles persistently follow. At the 3rd or 4th light, with the traffic density and the red light turning on, it literally becomes a city." Noting that the defendants were tried for the crime of attempted murder, lawyer Kocaman said, "Each person is sentenced to 11 years and 8 months for attempted murder and they are arrested with the verdict. Justice was served, albeit late. Because we had a very difficult time explaining this process to the client, his circle and his family. This incident may serve as a precedent regarding traffic incidents. If the defendants were arrested at that moment, it would at least ease the conscience or a step would be taken in terms of deterring the punishment. The appeal phase is still in progress."
